Opinion: Should companies only care about profits or should they care about the world around them and the people in it?
Should companies only care about making profits or should there be other concerns that drive the decisions of CEOs and CFOs? The company is responsible to the shareholder. In this way the company has a reasonability to make profits for the people who buy stocks in their business. Many companies do this by cutting costs at their companies instead of coming up with new and innovative ways to make the products or deliver the services that they are into. Companies have a responsibility to be innovative and to help grow the American Economy and the world economy. This means that when investors are looking at what stocks to buy they should not only focus on how much money the company is making in a quarter but rather on what is that company doing to help make the world a better place. how is this company treating their employees?
